The places of the heart

Agathonissi

The mountainous and jagged Agathonissi is the typical border island, set midway between Greece and Turkey; located 12 miles south of Samos is the Northernmost Island of the Dodecanese.
An oasis of peace and calmness, the South coast offers several solitary mooring possibilities in beautiful natural harbours with white cobblestone beaches. The large bay of Agios Georgios consisting of three coves hosts a small port with a dock, some houses and a couple of fish tavernas. The best and safest mooring in the South coast, Ormos Poros, lies 1.5 miles East and offers good protection from Meltemi. A real jewel of the Aegean that rely deserves a stop.
